Hi! I'm Shruti Bhiwandiwala

a Mumbai-based cross-disciplinary designer and artist with over 10 years of experience in the communications space.

As a strategic creative, my goal is to think analytically about the audience and the end goal of a project and build elements that work effectively for branded communications. I have worked as a journalist, a graphic designer, a book editor, and a departmental communications specialist.

In the last six years, my work has been focused on communications strategy and design in the non-profit space. Presently, I work as a freelance graphic designer, and my clients include big and small non-profit organizations like United Nations Federal Credit Union and Mithra Trust. Prior to this, I was the senior graphic designer for New York-based non-profit Acumen, where I led design for our global brand and supported Acumen’s storytelling efforts to highlight their investments and entrepreneurs bringing sustainable solutions to problems of poverty. I executed the creative communications for multiple fundraising campaigns that resulted in increased interest and donations; set the visual tone for all Acumen events, and supported all offices across the globe. Most recently, I led the execution of Acumen’s updated brand guidelines across the organization’s online and offline asset gallery, and worked directly with the Associate Creative Director to solidify the new brand visual elements.

I am passionate about mental health, queer rights, and global development. Given my curious tendencies, I'm always trying to learn a new art form, but I've recently focused on honing my skills in painting, pottery and papercutting.
